8# The Great Pier Swim for Havens 2015, Chalkwell Beach, Southend, Great Britain

Sunday, 12 July, 2015 (All day)

The iconic route 3.3k route that takes you through the infamous Southend Pier which is the longest pleasure pier in the world and has also played host to many celebrities since Jamie Oliver’s café has been filming on the end of the pier. With views of the beautiful Kent coastline across the water while swimming alongside Southends famous esplanade this is one of the most unique straight course swims in the UK.

The route is well marked out with a high safety cover to make sure that you can relax into your stroke and enjoy the freedom of the open water. There is the option of taking part in the challenge swim (wetsuits allowed) or the non-wetsuit race. Both will be chip timed.

The swim is open to most abilities. You will need to be a strong confident swimmer but you don’t need to be Olympic standard.

We also have our shorter 900m route going from the Three Shells Beach to Jubilee Beach for those looking at taking part in their first open water swim or just looking for a shorter course while still being able to swim through the pier. (900m will not be chip timed).

We will also be launching our brand new kids open water swim details tbc
