The Great Lake District Swim Challenge East Details:

In the lake district we are spoilt for choice as there are so many fabulous Lakes to choose from, so we thought why not do all of them?

The challenge in this jam packed 2 day trip is not just to swim across the Lakes but to journey between them all via the steep mountains and valleys that make up the spectacular geography of the Lake District National Park. Views from the swim bus promise to be as breath-taking as the swims themselves.

We meet on friday early evening at Ambleside YHA on the shore of Windermere for introductions,  a quick swim, full briefing and a group pow-wow.

Our swim weekend starts in earnest on Saturday morning, bright and early as we jump into our swim bus which will be our steed for the next 2 days, it takes us around to the western shore of Windermere but of course you have to swim back.

We swim through our itinerary swiftly moving from one Lake to the next and swimming a width (or two) of each in turn. It involves some walking into access and exit points and sustenance will be had 'on the hoof'. Accommodation is provided at the Ambleside hostel, where you'll also enjoy your breakfasts, overlooking the waters of Windermere and the mountains beyond.
