The Walrus Dip, Boxing Day Swim 2010 - Pembrey Country Park, Great Britain

Date:
Sunday, 26 December, 2010 - 10:00

The Walrus Dip at Pembrey Country Park has been going for just over 20 years, with a few hundred swimmers dressed as anything from Vikings to walruses. A just-for-fun event which some entrants use to raise funds for their particular charity - each dipper will receive a certificate  and teeshirt afterwards to confirm that they have participated.

The swim is held on the Blue Flag award-winning Cefn Sidan beach, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. Non-swimmers can walk off the Christmas pudding with a stroll along eight miles of golden beach.

All participants and spectators need to be at tideline for a 11:00am for a prompt start. Because of the popularity of the event it is worth arriving half an hour before start time.

The RNLI and St John's Ambulance are usually in attendance
